    Outstanding Arkansas 4-H Alumnus, 2007

Robert H. Parish of Adona in Perry County was named the 2007 Arkansas 4-H Alumni of the Year by the Arkansas 4-H Alumni Association at the State 4-H O’Rama July 26th at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

Mr. Parish was an 11 year member of 4-H in Sherman County, Kansas, where he raised champion hogs. In high school he played football and was on the wrestling team. He served in World War II as a sea going Marine. He then moved to Arkansas where he farmed, raising Registered Red Poll cattle, for over 50 year before retiring.

He is a constant source of support, information, and inspiration to the youth of Perry County. He was instrumental in establishing the Perry County Fair Youth Premium Auction, which this past year raised over $19,000 for the youth livestock exhibitors. This annual event has now been named the Robert Parish Youth Premium Auction in his honor.

He and his wife, Reva, have five daughters, six granddaughters, four great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons. They are active members of the Perry County Fair Board and are members of the Adona Methodist Church.
