Darlene Z. MillardPulaski CountyOutstanding Arkansas 4-H Alumna, 2009Darlene Z. Millard grew up in 4-H at Rogers in Benton County. She was a two time record book winner, when that was allowed, and a delegate to national and international activities. Living your dream is considered a lucky happenstance by many, but earning two degrees from the University of Arkansas and a PhD from Texas Women’s University proves that Darlene’s 4-H life skills of decision making and goal setting were put to good use, as she accomplished her dream of working for Extension as county agent, state specialist and then as “Head Clover” when she was named Assistant Director – 4-H Youth Development in 2002. Literally hundreds of 4-Hers have profited from her examples of hard work, patience, and sweet personality. She is a charter and lifetime member of the Arkansas 4-H Alumni Association. She has served on many boards and received numerous awards, including being one of the first inductees into the Emerald Clover Society. It is a great honor for the Alumni Association to be able to present Darlene Millard as the 2009 Arkansas 4-H Alumni of the Year. ![]() |
